Clinical Casework through the lens of the ACP

September 9 @ 9:30 am - 4:00 pm

This one-day workshop in Dunedin on Saturday 9 September offers a rare opportunity to spend a day with colleagues on clinical casework, writing and discussion. The workshop’s primary focus is to enable participants to unpick and discuss an extended case study: how therapeutic work has been approached, thought about and written up.

Our main area of attention is on dynamic formulation: how it is handled in the study and, more generally, why it is a central skill in effective clinical work and thinking. Dynamic formulation is one of the key competencies in the Advanced Clinical Practice (ACP) qualification.

This workshop would benefit any psychotherapists interested in examining or refreshing their practice and ways of thinking about their work. It would also benefit anyone engaged in the ACP qualification as a supervisee, supervisor or examiner.

Both presenters, Gerald Maclaurin and John Farnsworth are moderators for the ACP and have run several previous, well-attended workshops.

$150 [NZAP attendee] $100 [ACP attendees]. Note: after August 5: $180/$150

15 participants
