NZ EMDR Conference 2018 Presenters

TWO DAYS OF WORKSHOPS AND PRESENTATIONS AIMED AT PROVIDING AN OPPORTUNITY FOR CLINICIANS TO EXPAND KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS IN EMDR.

DAY ONE (27TH JULY)

Workshops by Dr Tom Flewett (EMDR Institute Trainer) and Astrid Katzur (EMDR Europe Consultant) with the aim of comprehensively reviewing Weekend One and Two training. This is a great opportunity to get a refresher including new materials and methods. Open to clinicians who have completed Weekend One.

Due to demand we are adding another workshop to Day One that will cover the same material and be run by Astrid Katzur (EMDR Europe Consultant). People registering for Day One after the 10/06/18 will be offered a place in Astrid’s workshop, but places will be limited again.

DAY TWO (28TH JULY)

Presentation series with the aim of exploring knowledge from research and practice regarding the use of EMDR. This is an opportunity for clinicians to share and discuss knowledge, skills, resources, and research regarding EMDR and trauma. Day two is for all clinicians.

Day Two presenters confirmed so far include:

Dr Tom Flewett: Revisioning hallucinations – an exploration of negative cognitions that become voices and a treatment approach using a mixture of ego state theory and EMDR therapy.

Ranka Margetic-Sosa: The importance of nightmares in trauma processing and a case example of how to work through them.

Dr Allister Bush: “Just like Bob the Builder” – addressing PTSD symptoms in a 2-year-old boy following medical interventions. This case presentation will demonstrate the use of Joan Lovett’s storytelling method in EMDR work with young children.

Astrid Katzur: The latest research on the treatment of depression and how to improve treatment outcomes & adapting standard EMDR protocol to address feelings of shame.

THANK YOU FROM DR JOHN MOFFAT, DR GAURANGA (RONGO) JERAM PATEL, AND THE ORGANISING COMMITTEE.
