NZAP Philosophy Te Reo discussion with Pele Fa’auli and Te Tau Ihu o Te Waka o Maui

(filed under About- NZAP Philosophy Te Reo Translation Discussion)

Te Tau Ihu o te Waka o Maui/ Top of the South region of NZAP had two inspiring sessions with their Cultural Supervisor, Pele Fa’auli, regarding uderstanding the Te Reo version of the NZAP Philosophy. We thank Danny Makamaka of Ngai Tuhoe for the Māori translation of this document. The group and Pele offer this recording to others in the hope of stimulating discussion in other regions. Pele has made it clear that this discussion is from the perspective of his understanding, coming from his Ngāpuhi roots. Other regions/rohe are likely to have other interpretations. Te Reo Māori/the Māori language translation of our NZAP mission statement enriches our understanding of the concepts which are the foundation of our profession.
