Belonging: a workshop for Pakeha and Tau Iwi therapists

Pre-Conference Workshop 2011

Picking up on the theme of the Conference, ‘Home is where we start’, we will focus on the ways in which we belong, starting with our names, our places, and our people. Who named us? Who are we named for? Where do we come from, and where do we live now? Who are our people, our family of origin, our family of choice? How do we relate to our names, our places and our people? We hope to share the influence of this understanding on our experience of each other, a vital first step in creating cross-cultural dialogue.

We will begin with a mindfulness process to help us to arrive, then work in small groups and a facilitated large group process.
