Kia ora koutou Psychotherapists,
The Wellington Depression Recovery Centre is wanting to engage psychotherapists to join our new integrated community-based therapeutic day programme that will open in Wellington City in January 2023.
The heart of our service will be a six week recovery-oriented programme, along with pre and post programme stages. The Centre will see adults experiencing moderate depression, anxiety, PTSD, and personality disorders. The Centre will address the gap in service delivery between primary and secondary care. Access to the service will be through GP referrals, with funding from ACC, MSD, private insurers and those who will privately fund their treatment.
The Centre’s treatment approach will be integrated and holistic, acknowledging theinterdependence of good mental health on good physical, spiritual, cultural, whānau and social health (Durie, 1985). The Centre is partnering with mana whenua to provide culturally safe and affirming services to meet the needs and aspirations of Māori.
We are looking for psychotherapists who can work psychodynamically within our interdisciplinary team of clinicians, allied staff, cultural advisors, and peer support workers.
Psychotherapists working at the Centre would assess people entering stage one and work collaboratively with other staff to diagnose, support and prepare them for the programme; run the small group psychotherapy sessions as a leader and a co-leader, see participants individually for support, goal assessment, and help them take their issues into the group settings. You would be welcome to bring your skills and interests into other areas of the program as well.
We are open to full or part time employment for this role.
If you would like more information about the Centre and the role I would welcome your inquiries.
Ngā mihi,
Danita Rajiah
Practice Manager
